A builder in Leek discovered weak ground when digging the foundation for his client’s 4x7m extension. Since this ground wasn’t suitable for building on, they sought the advice of Building Control before continuing.

Upon inspecting the site later that morning, the Building Control Officer recommended piling, and having been impressed with Rhino Piling in the past, put our name forward. The client, Mr. Hodgkinson, gave us a call straight away, and our Technical Director Jonathan was able to pay him a visit the very same afternoon.

After taking a look at the situation, Jonathan entered the details via an app on his phone. This was then picked up by Ryan in the office, who sent Mr. Hodgkinson an estimate within an hour. He accepted it, and the team of Danny and Ollie turned up at 9:00am Wednesday morning to begin piling.

They drove x5 150mmø piles all to a depth of 2m, before returning the next day to install 15m of ring beam, pass the Building Control Officer’s inspection and pour 5 cubic metres of concrete.

And that was that! From initial enquiry on Tuesday, to being out of the ground on Thursday. Needless to say, Mr. Hodgksinson was extremely pleased and left us a glowing review:

“We hit poor ground on our extension and looked like we were in for deep footings. I called Rhino that morning, they came out the same day, started piling the following day and the day after the concrete was poured! Amazing quick and efficient service. 100% recommend!”
